On September 14, Xin Lu, member of the CPPCC National Committee, former Vice Minister of Education and President of CSTVE, paid an investigatory visit to iSoftStone Information Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. (iSoftStone) and attended a symposium.

The 13-person delegation also included Zhongguancun entrepreneur Xiaolan Wang, who is also President of Time Group Co., Ltd. and Vice President of CSTVE and Jianlin Wang, Vice President of Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, who is an expert enjoying special government allowances of the State Council and also acting as Executive Director of CSTVE. Eight executives from iSoftStone including Qiang Peng, Executive Vice President of iSoftStone, and other colleagues from the Talent Development Department and the Strategic Affairs Department of the Group, also accompanied the visit.  All participants then attended a symposium.

In the exhibition hall of iSoftStone, the staff of iSoftStone introduced in detail the company's development history and its main business. President Xin Lu listened carefully to the reports on digital twins, iSoftStone cloud intelligent services, collaboration with Huawei in Kunpeng and Harmony programs, and the efforts of iSoftStone to integrate industry needs and educational courses. After learning about iSoftStone's strategy for fresh graduates and its effort to meet talent supply through the integration of industry needs and educational courses, President Lu Xin, in combination with the industrial development trends, had in-depth discussions with iSoftStone's team on important issues such as the major catalogue upgrading and digitization in vocational colleges and universities, the matching of talent training in colleges and universities with the employment needs of enterprises.

In the conference room of iSoftStone, Liqun Gao from the Talent Development Department of the Group, analyzed the employment demand of iSoftStone, with a focus on the talent supply and training system and university-enterprise collaboration. Then President Xin Lu said:

1. The value of an enterprise is not its products, but its talents. As a leader in the IT industry, iSoftStone can get involved in vocational education and work with colleges and universities to improve the talent training system, talent evaluation standards, teaching materials, teaching methods and classroom models. Excellent employees can become double-position teachers and join the expert database for double-position teachers.

2. The first Vocational Education Expo China will take place on December 3-5, 2021. The leading enterprises in the industry will be invited to release the industry talent demand report. As a representative of the industry players, iSoftStone can release the industry talent analysis report.

3. Knowledge, skills, and technology are the three key elements of vocational talent training. China's vocational education is benchmarked against the German dual system. With the vigorous development of the digital economy, the new work scenarios have also raised new requirements for talent training. Vocational educators should meet the market demand, build a new knowledge structure, new technology system and new sets of skills, accelerate the digitization and virtualization of the training system and realize the digital upgrading of students' hands-on ability. Enterprises are encouraged to bring their great production-based training scenarios to the campus.

Qiang Peng, Executive Vice President of iSoftStone, said that with professional training, students majoring in computer science in vocational colleges can fully meet the needs of software development talents in IT enterprises, and vocational colleges can establish a mechanism to cultivate "software masters".
